Kansas Environmental Leadership Program (KELP)
The Kansas Environmental Leadership Program (KELP) is an existing cooperative project between K-State Research and Extension and the Kansas Department of Health and Environment (KDHE) that provides knowledge of Kansas water resource issues and skill development for an effective local leadership within communities. KELP development and implementation is supervised by a steering committee.
The mission of the KELP program is, " to prepare individuals to practice leadership by working collaboratively in bringing about positive environmental change for the future of Kansas.”
Education KELP participants and graduates are potential partners, and bring an extensive network of contacts to the project.
