Friends of the Kaw is a grassroots, not for profit, environmental organization whose mission is to protect and preserve the Kansas (Kaw) River for present and future generations. We incorporated in 1997 and are governed by a 15 member Board of Directors. Friends of the Kaw has developed the Kansas River Atlas, an interactive, educational web site to explain issues effecting the health of the Kansas (Kaw) River watershed. We also sponsor group float trips on the Kansas River to educate individuals on the importance of a healthy river system.
