Organization Narrative

The Kansas Alliance for Wetlands and Streams (KAWS) organized in 1996 to promote the protection, enhancement, restoration and establishment of these important areas in Kansas. A nine-member Board of Directors operates the organization with help from an Advisory Committee and is guided by a mission and vision statement. The Board and Advisory Committee are comprised of private business, agricultural organizations, NGOs, local and regional interests, state and federal agencies, and tribes that work in partnership to improve Kansas watersheds.

Education KAWS provides demonstrtion projects, workshops and field days.

Mapping KAWS hosts a web mapper on it's web site.

Assessments : Kaws can perorm watershed assesments to different levels according to local requests and prioritize resource concerns.
